The London Collections - YMC

I did a post about how much I loved Topman Design at  The London Collections which you can read here. YMC was another great show. Men's awareness of design has increased so much in the last few years and with the first ever London fashion week for men this month, it's a very exciting time for men's fashion.
British fashion in particular is so inspired by youth culture and has been for decades, brands like YMC have this at the forefront of their design direction, which I absolutely love.
Designer Fraser Moss emphasises how he doesn't necessarily have a signature style but just designs clothes that he and his friends want to wear which explains the level of wearability in his collections.

This collection made me think of the Riviera, very much a collection for holiday dressing, I couldn't help but be reminded of Jude Law and Matt Damon in The Talented Mr. Ripley. There was a battle of prints with check, stripes, leopard and kimono florals, but they were kept to a minimum with no more than one printed item worked into an outfit.
Although the overall theme seemed to be relaxed dressing with turn up chinos, loose denim, lightweight jackets and rolled up shirts; each look was interesting and individual with different prints offsetting different looks. I loved the styling too; jumpers tied over the shoulders, outgrown hair and the perfect mens sandals.
